Social media advice proposal

With all of these statistics in place, you have got the data you need to work with. Now is the time to use your knowledge and create your own social media counseling suggestion.

If you are a social media advisor and you are offering a branding, marketing, or advertising campaign to a client, it is important that you can show how you can help your client grow their business.

Here are six steps you need to take to make sure your social media advisory proposal or business plan is effective:

  1. Set yourself clear goals. Find out exactly where your company or customer would like to go to their business and social media numbers. The clearer and more detailed the vision, the better. Follow the SMART Goal guidelines to make sure you are on the right track.
  2. Understand your customers. Know who your target audience is because they are the people you want to reach and involve. Collect your own social media statistics and use existing data. Your company or customer may already need to find out who is interacting with the company and who may have good prospects for the future. After you’ve completed your research, you can create useful character personalities to better understand and categorize customers.
  3. Understand your competition. These “similar but different” companies will be out there. And as with most aspects of business, the better you know it, the better you can get your foot on it. You can conduct this research at the same time as researching your customers, as they are likely to be interacting with competitors too. Once you’ve gathered your competitors’ data, the most effective way to use it is to find out where there may be gaps in their services that your company can fill.
  4. Familiarize yourself with the existing presence on social media. If you are tasked with maintaining a company’s social media accounts, it is important that you are aware of any previous social media posts, accounts, and experiments. When you understand what your customer has already tried, you will be better equipped to get them where they need to go in the future.
  5. Don’t forget to check your details. Before your newly implemented strategies take effect, it is important to establish a base as it was before so that you can measure something in the future. For example, if you take an inventory of the number of views on Instagram Stories before the new strategy goes into effect, you can tell whether or not the new ideas improve those numbers. It’s important to watch closely what is affecting your growth (positive or negative) so that you know when you are on the right track or when you need to try something new so that your business can continue to grow.
  6. Develop your strategy based on your insights. Define what your content will look like, what platforms it will be distributed on, and how it will differ between platforms. Even at this stage, find out minor details like your client’s tone and voice on social media (either what it is current or what it should be), along with design and style elements. Always ensure that you are staying true to your company’s or customer’s brand by consulting existing materials such as mission statements, guides or branding books.
