Top email marketing tweaks

According to recent research from Ascend2, improving personalization, testing designs, and using automated welcome / thank you messages are among the most important improvements to email strategy.

The report is based on data from a survey conducted among 298 marketers in December 2020 (40% of them work for B2C companies, 31% for B2B companies, and 29% for hybrid B2C-B2B companies).

According to marketers, personalization (43%) and data quality (39%) are the most important characteristics that need to be improved in order to optimize the email campaign effectively.

Attributes to test

According to marketers, the top attributes to test before launching email campaigns are design (43% cite) and deliverability (36%).

Effective automated series

Marketers say the most effective automated series for email email engagement are welcome / thank you messages (49% quote) and survey / feedback messages (46%).
